Abstract

The palladium‐catalyzed haloallylation of alkynes (I) in dichloromethane leads stereoselectively to (E)‐dihalodienes (III), whereas (Z)‐isomers (IV) are readily obtained by the same reaction in acetic acid in the presence of lithium halides.
