Palladium-Catalyzed 1,4-Acetoxy-trifluoroacetoxylation and 1,4-Alkoxy-trifluoroacetoxylation of Cyclic 1,3-Dienes.

Scope and Mechanism.

-The title products are yielded with good regio-and stereoselectivities. The stereochemical outcome of the acetoxylation of cyclohexadiene (I) can be reversed by addition of MeCN. Certain aspects of the reactions are discussed in the light of Density Functional Theory calculations.
