Palladium-Catalyzed 1,2-Oxidation of Allenes. -Palladium-catalyzed oxidation of allenes (I) with p-benzoquinone in the presence of LiBr provides 1,2-dibromides in a regioselective fashion. A plausible reaction mechanism via (Ο-allyl)palladium intermediates is proposed. The very mild oxidation conditions should tolerate a variety of functional groups. -(BAECKVALL,
