β¦ Synopsis
Oxygen Nonstoichiometry and Defects in Mn-Doped Gd2Ti2O7+x.
-The nonstoichiometry is measured as a function of temp. (700-1000 . degree.C) and O2 partial pressure (10-5 β€ p(O2) β€ 1 atm) using a solid-state electrochemical method. The results show that the defect equilibrium is attributable to neutral oxygen interstitials, doubly charged oxygen vacancies, and Mn3+ and Mn4+ substitutions at Ti sites as dominant point defects. The enthalpies for the formation of neutral oxygen interstitials and Mn3+ are determined. -(
