Alkyl Esters of N-Arylsulfonyl-2,4-dinitrobenzeneiminosulfinic Acids.

-N-Arylsulfonyl-2,4-dinitrobenzenesulfenamides (I) undergo an oxidative alkoxylation with sodium alkoxylates in the presence of chlorine or bromine to give the title esters (III). Acid hydrolysis of these esters affords the arylsulfonylamide (IV) and sulfinic acid (V). -(KOVAL', I. V.;
