Oxidation of Alcohols to Carbonyl Compounds under Solvent-Free Conditions Using Permanganate Supported on Alumina.

-It is noteworthy that in a mixture of a primary and a secondary alcohol the primary one is selectively oxidized. Additionally, it is interesting that no overoxidation to carboxylic acids or cleavage of double bonds in the case of allylic alcohols is observed.
