Optimization of the Retroracemization Procedure for α-Amino Acids Using (S)-2-[(N-Alkylprolyl)amino]benzophenones, Recyclable Chiral Auxiliaries.

-The retroracemization of α-amino acids using a variety of new (S)-2-[(N-alkylprolyl)amino]benzophenone chiral auxiliaries is reexamined. A [(N-benzylprolyl)amino]benzophenone ligand proves to be the most effective ligand with respect to yield and enantioselectivity. Preliminary results with a polymer supported form of this ligand are also presented. - (DE, B. B.;
