✦ Synopsis
Observation of Photocurrent from Band-to-Band Excitation of Semiconducting p-Type Diamond Thin Film Electrodes.
-The photoelectrochemical behavior of high quality semiconducting B-doped polycrystalline diamond thin films is studied using excimer lasers of different wave lengths. The ArF-laser (193 nm, 6.4 eV) induced photocurrent of the films, prepared by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition on Si substrates, which is significantly greater than those observed for KrF (248 nm, 5.0 eV) and XeF (351 nm, 3.53 eV), is due to the excitation of electrons from the valence band to the conduction band. By the ArF laser illumination electrons with very high reducing power are produced.
