Nucleophilic Substitution of Fluorine Atoms in Polyhalogenated

Vinylthiobenzenes by Alkylthio Groups.

-In the first step only the disubstituted product (III) is observed. Experiments to produce mono-, tri-, or tetrasubstituted compounds fail. Changing the conditions for a more selective formation of the tricyclic substance (V) only results in the formation of polymeric products.
