✦ Synopsis

Nucleophilic Displacement in 2-Chloro(trifluoromethyl)pyridines with Amines and Ammonia. -The title reaction yielding products like (III) and (IV) is studied. Compound (IV) is transformed into the pyridine thione (VI) which serves as the base for S-alkylation reactions, cf. the synthesis of the zwitterion (VIII) and derivative (X).
