✦ Synopsis
Nozaki-Hiyama-Kishi Reactions Catalytic in Chromium.
-A method is reported which allows for the first time the Nozaki-Hiyama-Kishi reactions to be performed with catalytic amounts of chromium compounds without compromising the scope, practicability, efficiency, and chemo-and diastereoselectivity of such C-C-bond formations. CrCl2, CrCl3, CrCp2, and CpCrCl2 are found to be suitable catalyst. However, the CrCp-based catalysts can only be used for aliphatic aldehydes and the diastereoselectivity is slightly lower than that observed with CrCl2 and CrCl3. The addition of substituted allylic bromides to various aldehydes proceeds with high anti-selectivity independent on the configuration of starting bromide. -(FUERSTNER, A.;
