Novel Synthesis of 2-Alkoxy(aralkoxy)-5-chloro[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]quinazolines and Their Derivatives. -Title compounds (I) are obtained by chlorination of triazoloquinazolinones with either oxalyl chloride or phosphorus oxychloride. Replacing the chlorine atom at the 5-position with multifunctional N-nucleophiles provides access to a series of tetra-and pentacyclic systems as well as a variety of open-chain derivatives. Compounds (I) are not only expected to be valuable compounds for further nucleophilic displacement reactions, but also may act as pharmacophores. -
