Novel Analogues of Cyclic ADP-Ribose: 9-Cyclic Etheno-ADP-Ribose and Cyclic Etheno-CDP Ribose.

-The syntheses of the cyclic ADP-ribose (II) and its CDP analogue are described using a biomimetic procedure. It is shown for the first time that enzymatic and biomimetic methods may proceed by different reaction pathways. The unique fluorescence properties and the strong Ca2+ mobilizing activity of (II) provide investigations with a useful probe for the study of cADPR-binding proteins. -(ZHANG, F.-
