โฆ Synopsis
Nostophycin, a Novel Cyclic Peptide from the Toxic Cyanobacterium Nostoc sp. 152.
-Amino acid sequence and structure of nostophycin (I), isolated as secondary metabolite from the title species together with microcystins, are elucidated by 2D-NMR and MS/MS spectroscopic studies. The absolute configuration of this novel cyclic peptide is determined by the advanced Marfey's method. Nostophycin seems to be biosynthetically related to microcystins because both have a ฮฒ-amino acid and two D-amino acids in common.
