Nitration by Oxides of Nitrogen. Part 10. Clean Nitrations: Novel Syntheses of Nitramines and Nitrate Esters by Nitrodesilylation Reactions Using Dinitrogen Pentoxide (N2O5).
-29 Examples are given for the novel nitration where N2O5 in an inert solvent is used to cleave heteroatom-silicon bonds to yield title compounds such as (II) and (XII) without liberation of acids as in conventional methods. These reactions are therefore potentially clean nitrations which produce the products with reduced impact on the environment. -(MILLAR, R. W.;
