โฆ Synopsis
hydrotalcite-type anionic clays are prepared by the coprecipitation method followed by calcination. The smaller effect of the noble metal in the as-prepared Ru-containing precursor on the lattice parameters of hydrotalcite (rhombohedral, R3m) as compared to the Rh-containing precursor is suggested to be due to a lower degree of Ru3+ incorporation in the hydrotalcite lattice. The lower catalytic activity and selectivity for the syngas formation from CH4-O2-He mixtures of Ru/Mg/Al clays calcined at 1173 K is attributed to segregation of most of Ru as highly crystalline RuO2 whereas in the calcined Rh samples Rh3+ ions are mainly present in the lattice of spinel phases.
