New Glycosylation Reaction Based on Alkyne-Co2(CO)6 Complex.

-Fully protected glycopyranosides (I), bearing a 4-glycosyl-6-phenyl-5hexynoate residue, react with Co2(CO)8 to an alkyne-Co2(CO)6 complex. On exposure to TmsOTf it provides glucosylglucosides (III) via internal delivery of glycosyl acceptor. The Co2(CO)6-complexed lactone (IV) is obtained as well in high yield.
