Multiwavelength Excited Novel Red-Emitting Phosphor Eu 3+ -Activated Li2Zn2(MoO4)3. -Li2-2xZn1.9+x(MoO4)3:0.05Eu 3+ ,0.05Li + (-0.10 โ‰ค x โ‰ค 0.30) phosphors are synthesized by solid state reaction of stoichiometric mixtures of Li2CO3, ZnO, MoO3, and Eu2O3 (air, 600 ยฐC, 2 h; calcination at 800 ยฐC, 4 h). The compounds are characterized by powder XRD and fluorescence spectroscopy. The phosphors exhibit strong red emission upon excitation with UV, near-UV or blue light, and are suitable candidates as red components for phosphor-converted white light-emitting diodes. -(HE*, X.;
