Mixed Metal Base LICKOR as Key Reagent in the Synthesis of Conjugate Alkadien-1-ols. A New Route to an Insect Attractant.
-Studies of the reactivity of 2-alkenyltetrahydrofurans with the LICKOR super base show that it promotes 1,4-eliminative ring fission affording conjugate alkadien-1-ols with high all E-stereoselectivity. The derivative (Vb) is structurally related to two sex pheromone components of the Caribbean fruit fly, Anastrepha suspensa. -(COMINETTI, FULVIO; DEAGOSTINO,
