Metamagnetic Behavior of the Novel Bimetallic Ferromagnetic Chain Compound MnNi(NO2)4(en)2 (en = Ethylenediamine).

-The title compound (III) crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pccn with Z = 4 (single crystal XRD). The structure consists of bimetallic chains formed by Ni-NO2-Mn-O2N bridges. The NiN6 core is a nearly perfect octahedron. Magnetic susceptibility data show that the Mn(II)-Ni(II) intrachain interaction is ferromagnetic and that the compound is a metamagnet. -(KAHN, O.;
