Meerwein-Ponndorf-Verley Reduction of Carbonyl Compounds

Catalyzed by Mg-Al Hydrotalcite. -The title reaction is studied with various aldehydes like (I), (IV) and (VI). The composition and the activation temperature of the catalyst is optimized with regard to high conversion rates.
