Magnetic Properties of Pr2Co17-xAlx and Y2Co17-xAlx.
-Magnetic measurements on the title compounds with 0 β€ x β€ 4 show a sign reversal of the magnetocrystalline Co-sublattice anisotropy from easy-plane for low Al concentrations to easy-axis anisotropy for higher Al concentrations. The competition between Pr-and Co-sublattice anisotropies in Pr2Co17-xAlx leads to spin-reorientation transitions at temp. decreasing strongly with increasing Al concentration. The Curie temp. decreases almost linearly with the Al concentration. The decrease of the saturation moments at 5 K with increasing Al content is less strong for the Pr compound. -(ZHANG, D.; DE GROOT,
