β¦ Synopsis
Low-Symmetry Uranyl Pyrophosphate Cage Clusters. -Na64Li26[(UO2)45(O2)44(P2O7)23]β’3H2O is obtained by self-assembly from a solution containing UO2(NO3)2, LiOH, H2O2, Na2P2O7, and (COOH)2 (air, 24 h). It crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 2 (single crystal XRD). The [(UO2)45( O2)44(P2O7)23] 90-cluster anion has a highly complex distorted dumbbell shape and contains an odd number of uranyl polyhedra arranged in a low-symmetry topology.
