✦ Synopsis
Lipase PS (Pseudomonas cepacia) Mediated Resolution of β-Substituted γ-((Acetyloxy)methyl)-γ-butyrolactones: Complete Stereochemical Reversion by Substituents.
-The resolution of lactones (I), (III), and (V) with lipase PS proceeds with high selectivity and reversal of the stereochemical preference for cis-or trans-β-substituted lactones. Similar results are obtained for the corresponding cis and trans ethyl derivatives. Lactones with larger cis-or trans-β-substituents such as phenyl show almost no stereodifferentiation.
