✦ Synopsis
Ionic Conductivity and Structural Phase Transformations for Hexagonal and Cubic Bi 1.33 U 0.33 La 0.33 O 3.5 Polymorphs.
-Conductivity changes of hexagonal Bi 1.33 U 0.33 La 0.33 O 3.5 , prepared by heating a mixture of Bi 2 O 3 and LaUO 4+x at 950 • C followed by slow cooling, and of the cubic phase, obtained by quenching of the reaction product, are discussed in terms of temperature-dependent structural transformations. An intermediate hexagonal phase different from the starting hexagonal phase is detected by powder XRD methods. These materials are excellent oxide ion conductors among which the cubic phase exhibits the higher conductivity. -(AMARILLA,
