✦ Synopsis

Investigations into Ambient Temperature Biaryl Coupling Reactions.

-An optimized Suzuki method for the synthesis of hindered unsymmetrical biaryls is presented. The optimization is made with regard to the effects of bases, base stoichiometry, solvents, boron species, and ligands at the catalyst. The investigation of Stille type biaryl coupling reveals that this process does not significantly benefit from the use of trifurylphosphine and triphenylarsine ligands. -(ANDERSON,
