The structure of letovicite, (NH 4 ) 3 H(SO 4 ) 2 has been redetermined at 293 and 420 K. At room temperature the structure crystallizes monoclinic, space group C12/c1 (no. 15), with lattice parameters a=15.418(5) A Λ, b=5.905(5) A Λ, c=10.223(5) A Λand b=102.806(5)1. The structure is composed of tw
The space group of (ND 4 ) 3 D(SO 4 ) 2 and (NH 4 ) 3 H(SO 4 ) 2 was reported in the literature to be A2/a at the room temperature phase. However, several new Bragg reflections which violated the extinction rule of the a-glide symmetry of the space group A2/a were found by neutron scattering experim
