โœฆ Synopsis

Indeno(1,2-b)pyridin-4-ylamines.

-A number of indenopyridinylamines such as (IX) and (XII) are synthesized via pyridones (cf. (V)) and evaluated for their antimalarial and antibacterial activity. Compound (IXb) shows the best activity in vitro on the proliferation of Plasmodium falciparum strains. Ist EC50-value is comparable with the activity of chloroquine against a multi-drug resistant strain.
