Hydrozirconation of Alkynyl(phenyl)iodonium Salts and Stereoselective Synthesis of (E)-Trisubstituted Olefins.

-Hydrometalation of salts (I) leads to alkenylchlorozirconocenes having the Zr-C bond geminal to the iodonium moiety. The following substitution reactions proceed with retention of the configuration of the double bond. Attempts to obtain (Z)-disubstituted alkenyl(phenyl)iodonium salts by hydrolysis fail. -(
