-High chemoselectivity towards aryl alcohols, e.g. (II), in the Pt-catalyzed hydrodehalogenation of halogenated aromatic ketones, e.g. (I), under multiphase conditions (isooctane/50% KOH) and in the presence of a phase-transfer catalyst (PTC) depends not only on the hydrophilicity of the latter (Bn-NEt + 3 Cl -is the best one), but in particular of the molar ratio of Pt to PTC, that requires a case-by-case optimization. -(SELVA, M.; TUNDO,
