Heteroaryl Functionalized Diacetylenes: Preparation and Solid-State Reactivity.

-Different types of diacetylenes such as (V), (VIII), and (IX) are synthesized and tested for their solid state reactivity. Only compound (Vb) can be transformed to a polydiacetylene. On the basis of X-ray diffraction studies on most of the compounds the reactivity or unreactivity is discussed in detail.
