Halofluorination

of 1,2-Difluoro-1,2-di(p-tolyl)ethene, 1,2,3,4-Tetrafluoro-1,4-di(p-tolyl)butadiene and Its Nonfluorinated Parent Compounds.

-The title reaction is investigated and the results are discussed in comparison to the products obtained from the non-fluorinated parent compounds. It is noteworthy that the reaction of (V) with NBS and Bu 3 N•3HF is unsuccessful. The reaction of 1,4-diphenyl-1,3-butadiyne with NBS/Bu 3 N•3HF is unsuccessful, too, and gives with NCS/Me 3 N•3HF higher molecular weight products.
