Glycosidase-Inhibiting Pyrrolidine Alkaloids from Hyacinthoides nonscripta.

-Alkaloid (I) and its apioside (II) are isolated from the leaves of title plant in addition to two known ones, among them alkaloid (III), previously only isolated from tropical plant species. Glycosidase inhibition by the aglycones explains the poisoning of livestock by grazing on bluebells (Hyacinthoides non-scripta).
