✦ Synopsis

Functionalized Triarylcarbenium Ions as Catalysts in Mukaiyama Aldol Addition: Effects of Counter Ions and Silyl Groups on the Intervention of Silyl Catalysis. -It is documented, that a functionalized Tr + SbCl -6 [cf. (I)] may serve as catalyst in Mukaiyama aldol additions. The process highly depends on the propensity of counter ions (SbCl -6 ) and silyl groups.
