Spectroscopy on Single CdS Nanocrystals. -Imaging and spectroscopy of single CdS nanocrystals by use of a low-temperature confocal microscope show a quartet of peaks consisting of a main peak up to two LO-phonon sidebands, and a "biexcitonic" peak. A deeper insight into the electronic structure and photophysical properties of semiconductor quantum particles requires further experiments like excitation, time-resolved, and Stark spectroscopies with single nanocrystals.
