β¦ Synopsis
Facile Transformation of N,N-Dimethylhydrazones and Tosylhydrazones to Ketones with Dimethyl Sulfate and Potassium Carbonate. -A new and convenient method for the regeneration of ketones from their corresponding N,N-dimethylhydrazones (I) or tosylhydrazones [cf. (III)] using a dimethyl sulfate/K 2 CO 3 system is accomplished. The deprotection is accompanied by O-methylation of free hydroxyl groups [β(VI)]. -(KAMAL, A.;
