Facile Syntheses of 3',4'-Methylenedioxy-2",2"-dimethylpyrano-[5",6":7,8]-flavone and (±)-Ponganone III, Two Pyranoflavanoids.

-The first facile syntheses of the two naturally occurring pyranoflavanoids (VII) and (X) based on the efficient preparation of pyranoacetophenone (IV) as the key intermediate via a DDQ-induced oxidative cyclization is presented.
