✦ Synopsis
Fabrication of Apatite-Type La 9.33 (SiO 4 ) 6 O 2 Hollow Nanoshells as Energy-Saving Oxidative Catalysts. -Apatite-type La9.33(SiO4)6O2 hollow nanoshells are prepared from an aqueous solution of La(NO3)3, trisodium citrate, and urea (autoclave, 200 °C, 8 h) followed by dispersion of the obtained precipitate in aqueous NH4OH and addition of EtOH and Si(OEt)4 (10 h). The samples with high oxide ion conductivity show enhanced catalytic performance at relatively low temperatures (400-600 °C) in the oxidative coupling of methane. -(ZHANG*, X.-H.;
