Evidence of Single Electron Transfer in the Diastereoselective Synthesis of β-Stannylketones. -Reaction of trimethyl-or triphenyltinpotassium with enones in acetonitrile followed by quenching of the intermediate enolates with water or methyl iodide gives either a mixture of diastereomers or one pure diastereomer of β-stannylketones in nearly quantitative yield.
