β¦ Synopsis
EQCM Study of Iron Deposition from Fe(II)/Fe(III)(EDTA) Solutions.
-The complex polarization behavior of Fe(II)(EDTA) and Fe(III)(EDTA) is studied on a Pt rotating disc electrode. A mass increase of the electrode, indicating iron deposition, is found at potentials below -1.0 V vs. SCE, i.e. in the region where the cathodic H 2 O decomposition takes place. A limiting deposition rate is indicated by a linear mass increase during the potential sweep. The results imply that Fe deposition takes place by a diffusion controlled process.
