✦ Synopsis

Enantioselective Addition of Diethylzinc to Aldehydes Catalyzed by Ethyl Nipecotate-Derived New Chiral Ligand. -In order to compare the chirality induction of chiral Ξ²-and Ξ³-amino alcohols, chiral Ξ³-amino alcohol DMM is synthesized and tested as catalyst in the addition of Et 2 Zn to various aldehydes. Alcohols (III) are obtained in moderate to good optical yields, but these e.e. values are lower than those afforded with chiral Ξ²-amino alcohols.
