β¦ Synopsis
Electrolytic Partial Fluorination of Organic Compounds. Part 29. Anodic Mono-and Difluorination of 2-Benzoxazolyl Sulfides.
-Anodic fluorination of readily achieved 2-benzoxazolyl sulfides (III) by fluoride salts in DME as solvent provides mono-and difluorinated products in reasonable yields. Monofluorination at the Ξ±-position to the sulfur atom takes place preferentially. Expected products of Ξ±,Ξ±-difluorination are not observed, but products fluorinated at both the Ξ±-position and the benzene ring (presumably at the 5-or 6-position). Interestingly, so far not reported anodic fluorination of the electrolytic solvent DME is observed as a side reaction. -(DAWOOD,
