β¦ Synopsis
The title compound is prepared by electrochemical lithiation (2.45 eV vs. Li/Li + ) of single crystals of V 6 O 13 grown by chemical vapor transport with TeCl 4 as transport agent. Li 3 V 6 O 13 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/m with Z = 2. The structure comprises single and double layers of VO 6 octahedra stacked in the c-direction. Lithiation results in a 6.5% expansion along the b-axis with respect to V 6 O 13 . The Li atoms are located at two crystallographically independent sites. -(BERGSTROEM, OE.; GUSTAFSSON, T.; THOMAS,
