✦ Synopsis

2.5 O 4 ) as Li Insertion Compound.

-The chronopotentiometric curve for the reduction of a Mn 2.5 O 4 spinel oxide based electrode in 1 M LiClO 4 /propylene carbonate at 20 β€’ C and a constant current of 100 Β΅A cm -2 shows two well-defined steps in the potential range 3.5-2.0 V and 2.0-1.5 V with faradaic yields of β‰ˆ 0.6 and β‰ˆ1.0 F mol -1 , respectively. For the electrochemically reduced samples, Li insertion of ΒΏ 0.65 per mol induces a loss of the integrety of the spinel structure. In galvanostatic cycling experiments in the potential range 4.0 -2.0 V, a stable specific capacity of β‰ˆ43 mAh g -1 is obtained after the twentieth cycle. -(SANCHEZ, L.; PEREIRA-RAMOS,
