โœฆ Synopsis

Electrical Conductivity in Mixed-Alkali Aluminosilicate Melts.

-Measurements of the ac conductivity in 25(Na2O + K2O)-yAl2O3-(75-y) SiO2 glass melts with y = 0, 5, 7.5, and 10 mol% at 1000-1400 โ€ข C show a strong mixed-alkali effect. An increase of the mixed-alkali effect with increasing Al2O3 content, i.e. with decreasing nonbridging oxygen content, is explained in terms of the binding state of Al2O-4-M+ and -O-M+ (M: Na, K) in alkali aluminophosphate glasses. -(KIM, K.-D.;
