Efficient Total Syntheses of (±)-Vincadifformine and (-)-Tabersonine.

-The stereocontrolled total synthesis of title compounds (IV) and (VIII) features a novel amine-protecting protocol by means of 2,4dinitrobenzenesulfonamides. This allows formation of the crucial intermediates (III) and (VI) under very mild conditions.
