Abstract

The palladiumโ€catalyzed reaction of 2,3โ€ and 3,5โ€dibromopyridine with olefins (II) gives rise to the desired dialkenylpyridines (III) and (V), resp., whilst the reaction of 2,5โ€dibromopyridine unexpectedly leads to bipyridine derivatives (VII).
