✦ Synopsis
Domino Hydroformylation-Wittig Reactions.
-The first domino hydroformylation-Wittig process as well as the first domino hydroformylation-Wittig-hydrogenation process with both methallyl or homomethallyl alcohols as alkenic substrates is presented. For disubstituted Wittig ylides (II), the stereoselective formation of a trisubstituted double bond and a C-C single bond takes place in a single operational step, combined with the generation of a new stereogenic center with high levels of stereochemistry. Mono-substituted Wittig ylides (V) give saturated products as result of hydrogenation of the intermediately formed double bond.
