Direct Synthesis of Imides from Dicarboxylic Acids Using Microwaves. -Cyclocondensation of dicarboxylic acids (I), (IV), and (VI) with primary amines (II) proceeds smoothly under microwave irradiation to furnish cyclic imines (III), (V), and (VII), resp., in good yields. In the case of malic acid (
