Direct One Pot Construction of Norbornane-Fused Dihydrotetrathiafulvalenes. -A one-pot reaction of norbornene, the ylide (II) and carbon disulfide generates a zwitterionic intermediate which is directly coupled with activated alkynes (IV) to yield the norbornane-fused TTF (V). Interestingly, the exo-anhydride reacts readily, whereas the corresponding endo isomer does not. Norbornadiene (VIII) yields the bis-TTF (IX). -(AITKEN, R. A.;
